Bio

I moved to Ohio in 2007 with my first wife, Marcy.

We came to the Buckeye State in search of a better opportunity and overall less expensive cost of living. While things didn’t take shape as we had initially hoped and planned, an opportunity to get my foot in the door (albeit as a temp) with an excellent employer presented itself and I grabbed hold.

That was interrupted by an extended layoff caused by the recession. In the middle of coming to terms with the difficulty this caused and doggedly seeking other work, I felt a drive to reassess government’s role in our society and the reliability of the major parties in handling our nation’s affairs. These entrenched political camps, which work together to continually churn-out legislation like cheap sausage and meddle in every aspect of society, create more difficulty than they promise to solve.

During that period in life, Marcy’s health began to take a hit. Over the course of joining the Libertarian Party, deciding the run for office for the first time, finally returning to work, getting laid-off again, and then landing a steady call-back, she would begin her valiant two-year fight with leukemia.

She would ultimately lose her battle with cancer. This period in my life would prove to be one of self-reflection, growth, returning to faith, and accepting that the myriad challenges I had been facing served to open my eyes to the truth that the up-and-down process of living can always be met with hope.

Before long, I met Sarah. Her own challenging journey served as common ground for us to establish a wonderful relationship. I moved to Ottawa in 2014 and we married a few months later.

With our son, Jeremiah, and my step-daughter, Cameron, we are raising our family and laying our roots here in beautiful northwestern Ohio – where, with joy, I call home.

I am an auto worker, employed by one of Ohio’s largest job makers. I served a six-year enlistment in the United States Navy, during which I deployed twice to the Middle East (including operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm).

And, I wish to represent you on Capitol Hill.
